The Medsphere Quality Assurance (QA) team ensures that the OpenVista electronic healthcare record (EHR) meets relevant quality control standards. Medsphere QA performs all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and all state and federal regulations.
The Medsphere Quality Assurance / Applications Tester position is based in Carlsbad, CA.
Primary Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement testing methods and scripts
Plan and arrange labor, schedules and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices
Provide parameters for sample testing and specify tests to be performed
Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements
Manage testing of all customer samples and special tests that cannot be performed in the test area
Analyze business requirements and technical requirements of all business functions within Medsphere to create testing strategies that support rapidly expanding electronic health record software
Assist business lines in refining requirements to create efficient software
Execute the testing process through the full system development lifecycle
Support product development by providing accurate and all encompassing testing scenarios
Provide documentation to ensure all test scenarios/business requirements are covered and tested successfully
Perform quality assurance testing for production support issues as well as enhancements to various systems
Adhere to company policies, including attendance and punctuality
Adhere to confidentiality (HIPAA) requirements
Perform other duties as assigned
Additional responsibilities may include the following:
Conduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments
Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures for automated testing tools
Create or maintain databases of known test defects
Develop or specify standards, methods or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness
Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests and usability
Document software defects using a bug tracking system and report defects
Perform initial debugging procedures by reviewing configuration files, logs and code pieces to determine breakdown source
Document test procedures to ensure replicability and compliance with standards
Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates
Provide feedback and recommendations to developers on software usability and functionality
Provide technical support during software installation or configuration
Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance and completeness, and to mitigate risks
Visit beta testing sites to evaluate software performance
Assist sponsor in the evaluation of software and associated documentation
Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules and potential problems
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor?s degree
Minimum 6 years of experience
Ability to convey technical information to non-technical individuals
Ability to work both independently and in team environment
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve technical and non-technical issues
Computer literate and comfortable with relational database concepts
Proven experience with other health information system (HIS) software packages
