The Quality Assurance Director is responsible for leading the software quality assurance effort to achieve the highest quality testing of our mobile products and services, with emphasis on automated testing. This includes developing, promoting and maintaining best practices for testing processes to ensure early detection of software bugs in all phases of the project/development lifecycle. The Quality Assurance Director will identify new, progressive, and effective software testing techniques and strategies, as well as bring passion, focus, and urgency to making the QA function best-in-class.Responsibilities
Direct team of professional QA engineers and integration testers
Oversee quality assurance strategies, methodologies, and metrics collection, with a heavy emphasis
on automation
Drive and refine software quality assurance best practices to enhance testing capabilities
Identify process gaps, champion and lead initiatives to strengthen overall product quality
Manage internal quality assurance automation team and design automation scripts to test analytical
products and services, including risk-based test cases
Collaborate with QA manager (responsible for manual testing) and review manual test cases for
possible inclusion into automation scripts
Review bugs found by quality assurance automation and work with QA manager to determine
priorities for fixes
Proactively engage with planning, design, and development teams to promote prevention of defects
early in project/development lifecycles
Desired Skills & Experience
Bachelors degree required, preferably in physical science, mathematics, engineering, or economics
8+ years of work experience with software quality assurance
5+ years of experience leading a team of software quality professionals
5+ years of experience with automation testing tools required
5+ years of experience with continuous integration
Proficiency with web technologies: PHP, HTML, CSS, etc.
Experience working in a startup environment
Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies
Strong knowledge of web and mobile technologies
Thorough understanding of Software Development Lifecycle
Experience with relational databases and SQL
Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and priorities
Must be resourceful and self-motivated
Sharp attention to detail
Strong communication skills
