Summary of Functions:
To provide quality-assurance support to the assigned program and/or area to ensure that the product is processed in accordance with customer and division quality requirements while maintaining production flow.
Plan and develop audit product/process statistically valid sampling plans, including, but not limited to, types of audits, planning, preparation, execution, reporting results and follow-up.
Define, develop, analyze and monitor measurement systems and report as needed.
Review all operation sheets, process procedures, test procedures, procurement documents, quality manuals, and inspection analyses to ensure that the division?s and customers? quality requirements are met on assigned products, programs, areas, and functions.
Provide support to assigned operation group, including, but not limited to, visual aids and inspection analyses. Summarize and make appropriate recommendations based on data analyses.
Review quality trends based on quality data system information and interaction with inspectors and production personnel, and participate in the generation and implementation of defect-reduction programs for assigned product or program.
Assist in identifying the root causes of a problem and instituting corrective action such as generation of operations verification change requests, continuous improvement and corrective actions. Perform root cause analysis for non-conforming and recommend containment measures/actions. Follow-up on corrective actions to determine effectiveness.
Evaluate discrepant product in accordance with quality requirements and determine its disposition or referral to the Material Review Board.
Interact with representatives from a variety of functional groups, including design engineering, manufacturing engineering, purchasing, the program office, and all production and inspection personnel in the assigned product or program area.
Provide recommendations to improve procedures that apply to quality and other functions, such as configuration management and operations functions.
Review quality trends to prevent or reduce defects, determine problem causes, and initiate actions to correct them, convincing others of the validity of potential solutions.
May interact with other personnel as well as customer and supplier representatives on quality issues.
Investigate, resolve and respond to customer complaints.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree with three or more years of experience or equivalent work experience
Demonstrated knowledge of quality tools such as Pareto analysis, cause and effect diagrams, flowcharts, control charts, check sheets, histograms and scatter diagrams
Demonstrated knowledge of lean methodology and process improvement tools such as root cause analysis, six sigma and statistical process control
Understanding of AQL and experience using ANSI/ASQ Z1.4-2003 to determine sample size and determine lot inspections
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and good working knowledge of other Office products
