THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The Quality Assurance Engineer I is responsible for executing written tests, recording results and reporting on those results. Testing will be performed on both router firmware and web-based SaaS management platform. QA Engineers must use skills in advanced PC usage, routers and networking to configure all relative test equipment. They may also write scripts, utilities or test documentation, as necessary. Heavy Exploratory testing will be performed. They will frequently work with various types and brands of networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, access points, etc.), and may be required to configure those devices. QA Engineers may also be involved in handling customer escalations from the Support team, when necessary.
Will regularly follow written test scripts to perform tests.
Will use Exploratory testing methodologies to discover new issues and test cases.
Work closely with other QA Engineers to ensure proper test coverage.
Work closely with product engineering teams to understand specifications and requirements for testing.
Will frequently use computer-based tools and systems to setup and/or execute tests.
Perform troubleshooting and research into test failure cases.
May be involved in some scripting languages for test automation.
Work with competitive networking products for compatibility and analysis testing.
Minimum four-years of experience in a Quality Assurance team.
Experience testing networked hardware and/or SaaS applications.
Experience with Quality Assurance testing/planning/execution.
Functional understanding of Quality Assurance principles and Exploratory testing techniques.
Advanced computer, router and networking knowledge.
Familiarity with commercial routers/firewalls/appliances.
Experience with web-based applications preferred.
Familiarity with cellular modems/networks preferred.
Familiarity with at least one common scripting language.
Four-year degree or equivalent industry work experience
