Job Description
Work with a QA integration/release & automation team on a highly complex C# Web/ and C++ client software product with experience on cutting edge technologies in both coding and test infrastructure. Duties will include: automating legacy and new code from an API and functional layer, working with Powershell, Selenium I and II, Vistual Studio Professional and Test edition 2010, VMWare ESX, Lab Manager & Workstation, Microsoft HyperV 2012 and potentially Azure. Additional manual testing integration scenarios not yet automated and exploratory from time to time. Desired candidate is a well rounded Engineer with a background in testing C# Web or C++ Products using software engineering test processes, ideally in an agile development environment. Product requires an intermediate level of knowledge on operating systems from an enterprise domain, software and hardware perspective as well as basic internet techologies.
Required Skills
Understanding of QA practices in terms of test plans and their execution.
Experience with end-to-end test processes and the ability to formulate test strategy for testing on software application features written in C# or C++.
Ability to ramp quickly on new product functionality, to understand basic components of C# .Net web or C++ Products and be able to isolate root cause of defects.
Ability to work with as part of a team to ensure quality deliverables and overall quality release.
Use of excel, online tools and C#, C++ or JavaScript used in creating/maintaining test cases.
Ability to lead automated testing using tools such as Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Selenium or proprietary tools centered around C#, C++ and/or JavaScript.
Creation and maintenance of test results and quality metrics.
Ability to work with teams in international locations and communicate status and issues both written and verbally.
Take pride in being able to find software defects.
Networking concepts that allow you to install and setup test environments.
Understanding of Windows operating systems from Windows 2003 and XP forward.
Contributing to the documentation of articles/technical notes for the products knowledge base.
Required Experience
Degree in a Computer Science related field with at least 4 years of experience in a software Development/QA environment.
At least 2 year?s experience creating automation tests (Unit, non functional or functional) that require script creation instead of point and click recorded automation. Programming experience may substitute.
Experience of using automation in an agile development environment is highly desirable.
