Job DescriptionThe QA Engineer II - Automation is a mid level position centered around automation in testing and some manual testing. The opening is on a new team creating a mobile device module for the Lumension Endpoint Management and Security Suite (LEMSS). Programming languages involved will be Java, C#, and Objective C. Technologies will be iOS, Android, Windows, MSSQL, Visual Studio, VMWare ESX/Workstation and Hyper V. The engineer will work on a sprint team in a Agile Scrum environment and is expected to provide an experienced and lead level QA skillset to the team in the area of mobile device testing. As a team member they must be willing to work collectively and on any task needed, IT, Development or QA related..
Required Skills
Understanding of QA practices in terms of test plans and their execution.
Experience with end-to-end test processes and the ability to execute on test strategies for testing on software application features written in Java, C#, Objective C and/or C++.
Automation test script coding vs point and click generation. Automation of mobile device testing is a significant plus.
Unit testing on Android or iOS.
Solid interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication
Ability to work with as part of a team to ensure quality deliverables and overall quality release regardless of automated or manual testing required.
Familiarity with Android and iOS operating systems and how to root them.
Creation and maintenance of test results and quality metrics.
Take pride in being able to find software defects.
Understand enterprise networking concepts that allow you to install and setup test scenarios representative of the customer environment.
Understanding of Windows operating systems from Windows 2003 and XP forward.
Contributing to the documentation of articles/technical notes for the products knowledge base.
Required Experience
Degree in a Computer Science related field with at least 4 years of experience in a software development/QA environment.
Hard requirement - At least 2 year?s experience with testing mobile devices and the associated toolsets.
Be able to discuss the pro's and con's of industry available mobile device test tools.
6-12 months of using automation to test mobile devices on the Android or iOS platform
Experience as a lead for a QA effort/project.
Experience of using automation in an agile development environment is highly desirable.
