Overview:The QA team is looking for a driven, hard-working, self-starter. The incumbent should understand the whole software development process and how it fits into the business approach and goals of the organization. The incumbent should bring strong technical and people skills to the table and be willing to learn new skills as needed in order to partner seamlessly with our development staff and the overall SCRUM teams. Ideally, the successful QA Engineer can be an experienced software developer who can work with/coach development teams on how to write better code.
Responsibilities:
Day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Meet deadlines once committed
Think through, prioritize, estimate and execute a pragmatic and efficient test strategy
Collaborate with SCRUM team members and actively contribute to the team?s success
Document, execute, present and discuss QA issues in a clear and concise manner
Work late (connected from home or on site) when releases to production are being performed
Ensure software development best practices are followed
Contribute to and execute the overall automation strategy
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or athematics is preferred.
A strong technical background in IT software development (Java and/or .Net and SQL) and/or Software Quality Assurance is required - no exceptions
Experience working with agile projects and SCRUM is a plus
Excellent analytical, problem solving and people skills and initiative are essential for this job in order to be successful
Experience with Visual Studio and/or Eclipse IDEs
Strong business experience is a plus
