Description:
The Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for developing, executing and maintaining test cases and test plans based on Vesta?s business needs - testing the products and technology that drive our 24x7 high transaction volume business.
Qualifications:
Candidates will posses a minimum of 5 years of software QA experience which includes understanding of the QA process throughout the entire software life-cycle.
Candidates must understand how to review use cases and business rules to develop test plans, test cases and scripts.
Must be able to drive complex and critical issues with minimal supervision to meet business needs and program schedules.
Experience in at least 3 of the following areas: XML, SOAP, .Net, web services, IIS, ASP, COM+ and familiarity with MS SQL Server and database concepts.
Experience with Java technologies and their associated tools is required (for example: Apache Tomcat, Struts, JMeter, JUnit and SQLUnit)
Experience with test automation is highly desired and preference will be given to candidates who have worked with related Java open source scripting / testing tools.
Experience in tracking defects throughout the layers of a system using standard defect management methodologies and the ability to understand and solve complex problems with a logical and systematic approach is crucial for this position.
QA experience working in organizations where the entire software development cycle from inception to delivery is measured in weeks is a must. You will need experience applying sound software engineering principles and processes in a delivery oriented environment where speed is critical.
The ability to Multi-task and react quickly to business needs is required.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required to clearly communicate technical solutions, issues and risks to a diverse audience of managers and other business personnel.
Education and/or Experience
BS Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Math, or related field; an equivalent combination of college, industry training, and experience may substitute.
Preferred Skills:
Test Automation experience with Java and J2EE technologies.
Experience with one or more Software Configuration Management packages (for example: Subversion, CVS, VSS)
Prior experience working in an IT environment with client/server, ASP, or Web Services supporting real time transactions.
Data layer or performance testing with MS SQL is highly desirable.
