ShapeUp is looking for a QA Engineer experienced with high-performing, data-driven sites and a passion for quality and creative problem solving. You?ll be joining a world class technology team that is rapidly growing. You will need to wear multiple hats and not be afraid to take on some responsibility. Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Creating and developing an overall test strategy and plan with a focus towards a complete test life cycle for a software product release.
Developing and implementing repeatable processes that promote building quality throughout all ShapeUp software development activities.
Managing and coordinating the development and approval of detailed test plans, test cases, test scripts that present the goals of testing, test systems to be used, and a final test schedule.
Tracking and reporting software defects and overall software stability.
Ensuring that ongoing software QA capabilities are robust, effective, and efficient in assuring the quality of ShapeUp software development activities.
Researching and implementing new or improved testing methods, processes, tools and systems.
Creating and managing the technology and processes to automate test procedures.
Validating designed functionality has been implemented.
Working with multiple teams to ensure all required tasks are fulfilled for a software version release.
Participating in new product development to ensure proper quality assurance and control plans can be implemented prior to beginning development.
Completing quality surveys received from current customers.
To Be Successful, You Will Need:
The candidate must have:
5 years experience with web testing
2 years of Selenium or Watir
Hands on Linux command line skills
Extensive source control experience, preferably SVN
Be able to manage multiple software releases being developed in an agile development environment
Strongly desired:
Automated test experience, preferably with Cruise Control and/or Twist
Strong scripting language skills with either Ruby or Python
Experience with load/performance testing, preferably JMeter
Technical development background, knowledge of Javascript, CSS, OO programming
Experience with production monitoring tools including Nagios
Experience in agile, test-driven development methodologies
