DESCRIPTIONPurpose:
As a QA Engineer, you will be a vital member of the test team for our custom internal applications and externally facing webservices. Candidates will be detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills. In this position, you will develop task estimates that are accurate and complete, validate that test cases have sufficient coverage based on risk, and validate software functionality. As the successful candidate you will have excellent documentation skills, including the creation of test plans, scripts and cases.
Responsibilities:
Perform functional and regression tests for new functionality and existing functionality.
Review and develop detailed test cases based on design and requirements documents.
Document, report and track software defects.
Assist in troubleshooting and debugging application and test environment issues.
Assist in the automation of test cases and the development of supporting tools.
Estimate tasks for bi-weekly release cycles and small software projects.
Review the content of newly developed automation scripts.
Review and provide feedback on functional specifications.
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in computer science, or equivalent experience.
3-5+ years of experience testing in a Web environment
Experience testing database systems; preferably MSSQL and MySQL
Knowledge of Unix based operating system and tools
Knowledge of PHPUnit/JUnit/NUnit or similar test frameworks
Familiarity with .NET webstack and MSI deployment packages
Familiarity with at least one scripting language like Php, Perl, Ruby, Python, etc.
Strong understanding of the software development life cycle in an agile/SCRUM environment.
Ability to work closely with Technical Program Managers and Software Developers.
Excellent English communication skills with the ability to explain technical information in a clear and concise way.
