Quality Assurance Engineer Splunk

We're looking for an innovative software engineer to design and develop tests, and testing automation that will ensure the highest level of quality possible given the constraints of a fast-moving and innovative startup-up. You'll be required to think creatively, and engineer elegant solutions to cover the product effectively and efficiently by working with both internal and external customers. You will be required to become a product expert in order to see things from the customers' perspective, and help ensure that the product continues to be a powerful and essential solution for our customers' business. You will work intimately with others as a member of one or more agile scrum teams to engineer and guide quality efforts.
Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!

• Take ownership of quality aspects for a given area of functionality
• Passion for testing, quality assurance and innovation
• Work on defining test plans and specifications
• Identify and analyze root cause of defects in collaboration with development
• Work closely with developers to design and implement effective and easy-to-use automated tests
• Analyze test results for product regressions
• Identify and promote product improvements for increased testability, supportability and usability
• Ability to learn new things quickly and have a “can do†attitude
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Requirements: I've already done that or have that!

• 3+ years industry experience
• Have worked in both an enterprise software and startup environment on distributed/networked system software
• Multi-platform experience, especially on Linux/Unix platforms, and Windows
• Solid programming language knowledge/experience, preferably, Python, JavaScript, Java, or equivalents
• Exposure to web and frontend technologies like Jquery, AJAX, CSS, HTML5, Flash etc
• Experience with UI automation frameworks, preferably Selenium/Webdriver or equivalent
• Exposure to Web development and OO design concepts a plus
• Experience/expertise with unit testing, test automation, system testing and continuous integration
• Exposure to Firebug and other frontend developer tools, JIRA, Bamboo, Testlink, IDE(Eclipse etc a plus
• Experience in shell scripting using bash, awk, sed etc
• Experience with UI Performance testing and performance analysis a plus
• Exposure to internationalization and localization testing

Education: Got it!

• Computer Science Bachelors degree or higher, or equivalent
