Who We Want:
This is a hands-on highly technical management role responsible for the leadership of a software quality assurance team. The QA Engineers at Bazaarvoice are matrixed to the development teams they support and so the ideal candidate must have experience leading a matrixed team. The ideal candidate will also have experience with the following:
Developing quality standards for company products
Overseeing the development and execution of software test plans and the analysis of test results involving more than one QA team in an Agile development environment
Technical consulting on automation issues, frameworks, tools and processes. Requires hands on experience with Java and/or a technical scripting language
Identifying metrics that convey the state of product quality and reporting on those metrics
Selecting, developing and evaluating personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the QA team
Developing leaders and being a thought leader in the area of quality assurance
Expert knowledge of quality assurance and testing best practices
Developing budgets and managing activities of a department, work group and/or project
Full HR responsibility for direct reports
This individual will manage Agile QA Engineers responsible for the following activities:
Writing, analyzing & executing test cases
Maintaining documentation of test results
Analyzing test results to ensure functionality performs as designed and recommending corrective action in the cases where it doesn?t
Test reporting
Automating test cases
Regression & integration testing
Skills and Experience Necessary for the Role:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years related QA Engineering experience. Minimum 3 years prior management/supervisory experience. Experience working on an Agile development team and a thorough understanding of Agile development principals required. Hands on experience using automation tools such Selenium required. Experience developing automation frameworks using TestNG or Java desired. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal; ability to lead and direct multiple projects simultaneously; ability to delegate work to subordinate employees; proven leadership ability.
