The Quality Assurance organization is looking for an individual to perform comprehensive and broad manual user-interface testing in Apptio's application suite. The primary focus of this contract position will consist of gaining the domain knowledge of specific customers, walkthrough user-based workflows and ensure the Apptio application is behaving as intended. There will be a strong element of comparing user interfaces between disparate versions of the software to identify potential flaws in the various application displays.
-Perform deep and comprehensive manual user-interface comparisons between disparate versions of the software.
-Ad-hoc and exploratory testing based on specific customer use-cases.
-Regular interaction with Customer Support to determine negative patterns in the field, incorporate information in use-case testing against latest versions of the software.
-Gather information and attempt to find root cause of product issues found through manual testing.
-Log bug reports through Jira (bug tracking tool) and perform bug verification upon resolution.
-Track pass/fail of tests through QA's test case tracking tool.
-Report daily status to the project lead.
-Two or more years of software testing.
-Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
-Basic networking, scripting, and administrative skills.
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
-Ability to write detailed test cases as well as comprehensive bug reports.
-Possess and maintain a positive, quality-oriented, reliable, and flexible attitude.
-Experience working in both Windows and Linux environments.
