Purpose and Scope
The Quality Control Associate provides reliable assistance in carrying out Quality Control functions such as document control, performance assays, and routine QC tasks.
Responsibilities
Tests In-house retains
Tests customer returned products
Completes routine QC assays and responsibilities, such as performance assays and equipment use, maintenance and calibration
Reviews completed batch records and log sheets for completeness
Operates laboratory equipment
Helps in a backup role for other QC Associates
Works with Technical Services regarding customer inquiries
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Education and Training
BS degree in a life science field or equivalent experience working in a related field
Technical Requirements
Knowledge of aseptic technique
Experience with PCR a plus
Experience and Skills
Basic algebra skills
Report writing skills
Experience with operating laboratory equipment
Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software
Physical Requirements
The work environment characteristics are representative of both an office and laboratory environment.
Handling of blood borne pathogens (viral and bacterial) as well as infectious or potentially infectious bodily fluids, tissues, and samples.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Standing, sitting, walking, and use of hands and fingers.
Ability to lift 15 lbs routinely.
