Merrimack applies Network Biology, its proprietary systems biology-based approach to biomedical research, throughout the research and development process. Merrimack currently has six targeted therapeutic oncology candidates in clinical development.
We are seeking a talented Quality Control Associate/Specialist. The ideal candidate will have the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment and work proactively with various teams across the organization.
As a specialist in the Quality Control Biochemistry group you will support routine release and stability testing of both biologic and small molecule products under cGMP. You will also assist in the development and qualification/validation of HPLC based assays. In addition, the candidate will perform molecular characterization methods and participate in related CMC activities. The Quality Control Biochemistry Specialist will be a key member of Merrimack's drug development teams and will work closely with process development, manufacturing, and research and development.
The position requires a BS or MS in biochemistry or related field and 5+ years of applicable biotech/pharma experience. The candidate should have an established track record in performing and developing/optimizing HPLC-based assays for proteins, lipids, and/or small molecules and have demonstrated experience in GMP quality systems. The candidate is expected to be knowledgeable in Particle Size, Peptide Map, Reverse Phase, SEC, CEX, SDS-PAGE, Bioanalyzer, pH, Osmolality and other standard wet chemistry methods. The candidate should have experience in analytical method and software validation. The ideal candidate will also have a strong background in the implementation and/or validation of Part 11 compliant software in the QC lab (preferably Empower software). The candidate should have excellent team skills, effective organization and presentation skills and strong interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal).
