Description
The Quality Engineer analyzes information; reports research results; promotes process improvement; develops quality standards; manages processes, manufacturing methods and procedures; supports innovation; and collects data on customer returns to produce an analysis of fault and drive corrective action.
Responsibilities
The Quality Engineer has responsibilities and duties in three major areas:
Quality System
Maintain quality system, including documentation such as quality manuals, procedures, etc.
Continuously improve and enhance quality system, including QA inspection process and procedures.
Develop training to build quality awareness.
Prepare QA reports to provide a measuring tool of the quality system?s effectiveness.
Contract Manufacturing
Manage suppliers? performance.
Interface with engineering and operations to ensure transfer to production of new products.
Support contract manufacturers to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions.
Field and Production Failures
Test and analyze failures; conduct corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective action for process related concerns.
Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actions.
Preparation of QA reports on field failures
Professional/Educational experience
Electronics engineer, capable of root cause diagnosis
Familiarly with processors, memory and communication devices.
Quality training and or system maintenance of ISO 9000 or ISO 13485 quality system
Production and process experience; ability to analyze systems for repeatability
Professional Qualities
Good communicator through reports and presentations
Ambitious, self-motivator, hungry for a challenge and eager to learn.
