Aurora Flight Sciences is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer, to join our growing team in Mississippi. This position requires an action and results oriented individual who can effectively achieve demanding development and production goals. This individual must also be able to interact and communicate at all levels of the organization.
Job Qualifications (basic job description):
The Quality Engineer, working under general supervision, in a team oriented environment, perform all tasks in area of responsibility in a timely and efficient manner to support the quality assurance system. Ensures all aspects of the technical, contractual and regulatory requirements of delivered/finished articles. Coordinates with program management positions to identify and implement actions necessary to develop, support, document, and validate process compliance, measurements and continuous improvements.
Performs review of 3D design models for productibility and inspectability.
Plans and implements activities concerned with development, applications, and maintenance of quality standards for manufacturing processes, materials, and products.
Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
Develop product/process audit and product inspection procedures and instructions for collecting, evaluating, and reporting quality data.
Complies and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality assurance and co activities.
Manage Nonconformance Control & Disposition and Corrective Action processes.
Principal Poin of contact for customer and regulatory authorities regarding program compliance (e.g. audits), resolution of customer/fleet specific technical issues and special project requests or field evaluations.
Develop and implement supplier flow down requirements specific to product and services required to support customer regulatory and technical requirements.
Minimum Requirements (education and experience):
Requires a B.S. degree in a technical discipline or 6-8 years experience in Quality Engineering or Design/Manufacturing Engineering
3 years Composite manufacturing experience
Working knowledge of 3D models used in design and manufacturing
Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action, Preventive Action and Continuous Improvement Tools
Must possess oral presentation skills, oral and written communication skills, group facilitation sklills, conflict management skills and training skills
Proficient in MicrosoftSuite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
American Society for Quality certifications desired. CQE, CQA, CQPA, CQM/OE
Experience in FAA Type/ Production or repair station environment desired but not required
Internal and Supplier product/process audit experience desired
Supplier Quality Assurance
Raw Material Testing (Composites) Receiving and Shelf Life Extension
Ability to working within a manufacturing environment and able to lift and transport objects up to 40 pounds as well as consistently stoop, crawl, bend, crouch, climb and kneel.
20% Travel is required

Day shift with flexibility to work extend hours or other shifts as needed
