Aurora Flight Sciences is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our growing team in Manassas, VA. This position requires an action and results oriented individual who can effectively achieve demanding development and production goals. This individual must also be able to interact and communicate at all levels of the organization.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Director of Quality, the Quality Engineer will be responsible performing technical design review of 3D Model datasets (CATIA), perform analysis of program quality requirements, establish quality program plans, performs initial quality planning, design and technical milestone reviews. He/she will develop, execute and sustain the integration of program quality plan including analysis of quality program requirements, effective techniques analysis, evaluation and metrics reporting. He/she will support supplier development activities, and customer interfaces.
Requirements:
? Requires a B.S. degree in a technical discipline and/or 6-10 years? experience in Quality Engineering or Design/Manufacturing Engineering
? 5 years Composite manufacturing experience
? Working knowledge of interrogation of 3D Model dataset (CATIA) for producibility and inspectability
? GD&T ? Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
? ASME Y14.5M ? 1994: Dimensioning and Tolerencing
? ASME Y14.5 ? 2009: Dimensioning and Tolerancing
? ASME Y14.41 -2003: Digital Product Definition Data Practices
? FT&A ? Functional Tolerancing and Annotations
? Ability to analyze and understand all aspects of the operation
? Must possess oral presentation skills, oral and written communication skills, group facilitation skills, conflict management skills and training skills.
? Proficient with CATIA, and Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
Desired Experience:
? ASQ CQA, CQE or CQM certifications
? Knowledge of AS9100:2009
? Lean/Six Sigma
? Statistical Process Control, Quality Improvement Models, Problem Identification Techniques, Quality Improvement Tools and Group Problem Solving Techniques
? Minitab or equivalent statistical analysis tools experience
Travel:
? 10% Travel required
