Description: The Quality Engineer has responsibilities for supporting product development and manufacturing from quality perspective.
Work closely with Manufacturing and Product Development Engineering to maintain consistency across the organization.
Create and implement action plans to rectify localized and systemic process breakdowns.
Drive resolution of issues related to supplier and internal process nonconformances.
Perform internal audits and support external audits.
Ensure implementation of appropriate corrective actions
Develop and support area-specific Quality-related documentation for production activities, including preparation of Quality Control Plans, Flow Charts, Gage Studies, SPC charts, Test Procedures and Manufacturing Procedures,.
Initiate and lead continual improvement initiatives.
Use statistical methods to introduce and lead improvement plans.
Develop sampling plans; establish statistical confidence by identifying and monitoring sample size and acceptable error.
Use Lean techniques to eliminate waste in production processes.
Assist in the development and facilitation of Process and Design FMEA?s and help maintain risk management policies and programs.
Develop, analyze, and present process metrics to production and senior management teams.
Maintain required First Article Inspections and Detail Inspection Plans.
Lead / facilitate high level material review, root cause, failure analysis, and corrective action; utilize various analysis tools and make corrective action and containment recommendations.
Bachelor Degree in an engineering field is required
5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Production and/or Engineering in Manufacturing setting
Experience with Product Quality Planning, Failure modes and effects analysis, Statistical Process Control, Metrology, Design of Experiments, and Control Plans
Knowledge of fuel cell systems is a plus
Excellent communication and team-building skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced /cross-functional environment
Must be able to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications
Flexibility for work hours first/second shift
