The Electrical Floor Inspector shall primarily perform:
Quality Assurance inspections of electrical, controls and instrumentation systems
Structural, piping, and major equipment assembly inspections
Witness of Internal and External component and system level (FAT) testing
Final inspection of completed systems
Perform visual inspection of installed parts and assemblies in accordance with the applicable requirements including MCC?s, breakers, transfer switches, motor termination boxes, motors, VFD?s, starters, junction boxes, conduit & raceways, grounding systems, MV & LV wiring & terminations, control panels, PLC?s, fiber optics, ethernet, relays, switches, solenoids, and instrumentation.
Perform inspection of layouts and installation, documenting defects on piece parts and assemblies in accordance with applicable Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Engineering documents including specifications, manufacturing prints, schematics, and codes.
Interpret drawings, procedures, instructions, codes and specifications for determining the acceptance of the product or installation undergoing examination.
Prepare inspection reports, nonconformance reports, and complete all other documentation requirements.
Identify inspection points for creation of Inspection & Test Plans.
Ensure documentation of inspection and testing is performed on schedule.
Perform inspections at the TAS facility, supplier?s facilities, or the customer?s site as required.
Assist with the training of other personnel as required.
Promote craftsmanship, efficiency, product & process improvement, and safety.
Assist with receiving, fabrication, and mechanical assembly inspections as required.
Experience with Medium and Low Voltage electrical power applications, motor controls, switchgear, power distribution, controls & instrumentation system installation with demonstrated knowledge of electrical and instrumentation codes
Working knowledge of NEC, IEC, NETA, OSHA, UL, CE marking standards, and industry materials, installation, and testing practices
Electrical Journeyman License is preferred
Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification from ASQ is a plus
Associates Degree in Applied Science is a plus
Welding inspection experience is a plus
Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, and specifications
Self starting and able to work with a minimum level of supervision to accomplish duties
Ability to communicate clearly, written and verbal, with various levels of management, customers, suppliers, and other employees
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to use business software such as Microsoft Office and TAS intranet tools, etc.
RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum five years experience in electrical design, installation, or service
Minimum two years experience in a Quality Assurance role
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Certification as a Quality Inspector is expected within one year of employment
