JOB SUMMARY: The Quality Improvement (QI) Coordinator will have primary responsibility for promoting and managing the day-to-day clinical and service quality improvement initiatives throughout the Health Integrated organization. The QI Coordinator supports the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of continuous quality improvement and organizational excellence in areas of quality of care and service, accreditation, key performance indicators, and provider and member satisfaction. The QI Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining a system for analysis and outcomes measurement to determine whether the QI Program is achieving its goals. The QI Coordinator is responsible for assisting and educating staff to organizational compliance with accreditation requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/License/Certification: Licensed healthcare professional (RN, LCSW, LMHC) with current, unrestricted license required. Behavioral Health experience desired.
Experience: At least three (3) years direct medical and/or behavioral patient care experience is required. 1-3 years? experience in healthcare quality improvement activities/process. NCQA & URAC accreditation experience preferred. Advanced certification in health care quality is preferred. Managed care experience desired. Medicare and Medicaid experience desired.
Knowledge/Skills:
Strong critical thinking skills, communication skills, and written documentation skills. Knowledge of CQI concepts, implementation and evaluation. Knowledge of CQI methods and tools. Statistical ability to analyze data. Must be able to work independently at times. Working knowledge of utilization management/case management/disease management preferred. Hands-on experience with developing, updating/revising and implementing policies and procedures to support accreditation and/or departmental processes. Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required. Proficient computer skills: MS Office applications ? Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Accountabilities:
Job Performance/Responsibilities:
Prepares report queries to extract data from various data management systems/sources according to reporting timeframes or ad hoc requests
Coordinates critical and statistical data analysis. Reports results of statistical analyses, including information in the form of graphs, charts, and tables, conducting both a quantitative as well as qualitative analysis of the data.
Evaluates QI initiatives against established targets and goals to identify trends, barriers, opportunities and improvement actions
Prepares preliminary and final interpretations of analyses for QI Management and other management as directed by Manager of Quality Improvement and Accreditation
Designs, implements and monitors QI initiatives with the guidance of the Manager of Quality Improvement and Accreditation. QI initiatives include, but are not limited to: member and practitioner complaints, adverse occurrences, audits, and various QI projects.
Utilizes CQI skills in data analysis to identify significant and problematic issues
Supports operational objective of process improvement by organizing the necessary teams, utilizing the appropriate tools and process measures to improve member clinical and service goals
Coordinates and conducts the analysis of member and practitioner satisfaction survey data as well as the corresponding client reports
Supports all levels of Health Integrated staff and management, as well as multi-disciplinary teams across departments to identify and advance quality improvement and organizational goals
Conducts activities related to accreditation compliance, including but not limited to: monitoring for updates, communicating and assisting department leads with implementation of standard requirements, and ongoing compliance monitoring
Acts as a resource to all Health Integrated staff regarding quality improvement processes, and assists as needed with problem-solving and implementation of improvement plans
Assists with monitoring of clinical and service activities to ensure that adequate control processes exist and are being effectively exercised to produce ACT reporting for internal and external customers
Assists in client pre-delegation and ongoing delegation assessments to ensure compliance with accreditation, regulatory and client requirements
Supports the Health Integrated Quality Improvement Committee structure and functions through the preparation and presentation of QI information and reports
Acts as a liaison for the annual review and revision of the Health Integrated program descriptions, including the quality improvement program
Develops, reviews and revises policies and procedures as necessary to ensure compliance with accreditation, client and other process requirements
Assists in the annual evaluation of the effectiveness of the quality improvement program
Performs other duties as indicated by the Manager of Quality Improvement and Accreditation
