Job Description
The Quality Specialist Special Projects is responsible for completing quality assurance audits on current colleagues and new hires assigned to the special project. This individual will also assist in all quality assurance activities in the department including but not limited to: reporting of QA results, responding to client QA needs and providing training to all remote colleagues assigned to the project.
Responsibilities:
Complete QA on all new hires assigned to the client
Complete all regularly scheduled QA for clients
May complete action plans for colleague QA
Communicates quality issues to Quality Lead
Maintain reports and accuracy rates for colleagues and client.
Respond to client QA needs at the direction of QA Lead
Provide remote colleague educational sessions on error trends as requested by management or client request
Support Precyse Compliance Program by demonstrating adherence to all relevant compliance policies and procedures as evidenced by in-service attendance and daily practice; notifying management when there is a compliance concern or incident; demonstrating knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Regulations as evidenced by appropriate handling of patient information; promoting confidentiality and using discretion when handling patient information.
Attend educational conference calls
Provide coding support as needed
Requirements
RHIA or RHIT and CCS
3+ years of experience in inpatient and outpatient coding required
Required quality assurance skills with inpatient, ambulatory surgery, and evaluation/management coding
Preferred skills: IP, MS-DRG, OP/ASU, procedures, APC, physician office billing, prospective payment methodologies and charge description review master
Commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current and changing regulatory requirements related to coding and compliance
Customer service focus and demonstration of professionalism, flexibility, dependability, commitment to excellence and commitment to the profession
Computer knowledge of coding systems and MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
AHIMA ICD-10 certified training preferred
Previous consulting experience preferred
Ability to travel to project site as needed
