This is a position in Quality Assurance responsible for leading the development and execution of performance and automation testing solutions. This position works with management to apply automation strategy and to plan and execute effective and efficient performance and automation testing to accomplish on-time and efficient delivery of high quality software products and/or data
Lead the testing effort on small projects.
Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to QA Manager.
Extensive use of SQL to create, retrieve, analyze and manipulate data.
Assess current software quality practices and recommend improvements.
Develop and execute complex functional, regression, and performance tests.
Create test data and test cases.
Research issues to identify root cause and log defects as needed.
Analyze functional requirements and technical specifications to create test cases that ensure business requirements are met.
Work closely with business analyst and developers to ensure product quality.
Develops and executes automated and performance testing for large or multiple diverse projects to successfully and consistently enable delivery of high quality software products and services on time, on budget and to specification, reacting quickly to changes in priorities or circumstances to meet the needs of the business.
Interfaces with Product Management, Project Management, Engineering, and Operations teams to plan testing for delivery of products and enhancements and to assure products meet product requirements and quality standards. Innovates process improvements that enable efficient delivery and maintenance with consistent direction.
Works with QA staff, project managers, technical leads, and subject matter experts to plan and execute automated and performance tests. Reports issues and results, researching and identifying root causes as appropriate, documenting accordingly. Ensures that testing addresses requirements as agreed with other stakeholders.
Researches available tools and leads or participates in initiatives to identify and implement those that will cost-effectively enhance testing capabilities and product quality. Identifies opportunities to apply existing automation or other tools to meet testing needs.
May work with architects, developers, and network and system engineers to research and identify root causes to performance issues.
In cooperation with management, assists with the professional development of other QA staff through mentoring, training, and information sharing. Communicates automation and performance capabilities so that others are aware how and when these can be applied.
Cooperates in the enhancement of the methodologies employed for test planning and execution, issue tracking, and metric and status reporting; leads or participates in continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of best practices.
Identifies areas for cooperation with other teams to improve overall quality and with peers or others implements initiatives improving testing capability and efficiency.
Configures, maintains, and/or administers testing tools or environments.
Performs other duties as assigned.
