We are looking for an R&D Engineer (Req #T903) to join our engineering team. This position is responsible for creating, developing, and executing Verification and Validation (V&V) test procedures, for the current generation as well as next generation components for the Catalys Precision Laser System. The R&D Engineer will also support manufacturing in all engineering issues including test configurations and tooling, component evaluation, and process optimization.

Job Functions
Generates the requirements for, and/or implements verification and/or validation studies associated with product designs, assembly and/or test fixtures, and/or manufacturing processes
Completes the engineering change documentation associated with product designs, assembly and/or test fixtures, and/or manufacturing processes
Works with Operations, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Regulatory, and external suppliers to develop, evaluate and release new designs for fit with manufacturing methodologies and requirements (DFM)
Revises existing designs to resolve issues associated with component obsolescence, end-of-life, manufacturability, or product performance
Identifies and designs, manufactures and/or procures fixtures, equipment, and other devices as required
Requirements/Skills:
3 plus years of experience in NPI or Manufacturing Engineering
1 year of experience working in a regulated industry; medical device preferred, experience with disposable medical devices ideal
Knowledge of fabrication and assembly processes
Experience in new product development and transfer to manufacturing
Familiarity with plastic injection molded parts ideal
Strong knowledge of the FDA and ISO Quality System Regulations (knowledge from other highly-regulated industries will be considered)
Proficient in the use of Solid Works or similar 3D CAD software
Power-user of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Outstanding team-work skills and ability to work well with a multicultural workforce
Education
BS in Engineering is required; Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering is preferred (equivalent work experience and demonstrated subject knowledge will be considered)
