Breathe Technologies, Inc., is a developer and manufacturer of innovative medical technologies for treating lung diseases and sleep-disordered breathing. The company was founded in January 2005, and their ventilator, featuring the company?s proprietary, open-airway platform, is cleared for use in both the institutional and homecare settings.
SCOPE OF POSITION:
This position offers a challenging opportunity for a highly experienced electronics technician. S/he will help design, develop, test, manufacture, and repair electrical and electronic equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Troubleshoot and repair fine-pitch surface mount for PCB boards and electronic circuits
? Design and assemble electronic circuits for prototypes, experiments and device testing
? Support Product Development and Manufacturing with electronics expertise for prototyping ideas, building test fixtures and performing tests as required in the development process
? Test electronics units, using standard test equipment, and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment
? Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components
? Write reports and record data on testing techniques, laboratory equipment, and specifications to assist engineers
? Design basic circuitry and draft sketches for clarification of details and design documentation under engineers? direction, using drafting instruments and computer aided design equipment
? Build prototypes from rough sketches or plans
SKILLS / APTITUDES:
? Familiarity with processes such as building PCBs from prototype to production
? Skilled in soldering miniature components onto multi-layer FAB?s
? Proficient in reading schematics and troubleshooting at the component level
? Proficient in MS Word, Excel, LabView, OrCad and CAD Software
? Talented with laboratory electronics test and repair equipment
? Excellent oral and written communication skills
? Ability to work well in a team environment
? Knowledge of practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
? Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
? Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
? Comfortable hitting the ground running with little direction
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
? High school plus two years of training minimum
? Prior work in the shop environment
? Experience with basic digital and analog circuit theory and applications
? Experience with locating and acquiring electronics components and services
? Medical Device experience preferred
? Excellent hands-on experience in electronics and mechanical activities
