Recruiting Director Redfin
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED
Redfin needs a leader to take our current recruiting operations to the next level. This company is a recruiter?s dream. In a sales-driven industry, we tell our employees to focus on doing the right thing. In a dog-eat-dog world, we have created and foster a caring culture. Where other Real Estate brokerages churn-and-burn through contractors without benefits or career growth, Redfin delivers both.
We have a recruiting team in place; we just need you to shape the recruiting operations to prepare for our continued explosive growth next year and beyond.
What you should bring to the table:
Strategic Vision: you have a vision and communicate it clearly which garners support from others. You are able to see beyond the needs of today and identify the risks and opportunities that Redfin will face with regards to talent acquisition in 2014 and 2015 and beyond, and deliver the strategies and tactics required. You will set the talent acquisition direction for Redfin in a way that shapes our culture, brand and future success as a company.
Creativity: status quo doesn?t work for this group nor should it. You think outside the box and you?re not afraid to take thoughtful risks. You realize that you cannot take a one-size fits all approach to recruitment and don?t want to. You learn from your mistakes but recognize that innovation is not without measured risk.
Analytical Thinking: Numbers are your friends and allies. You like metrics and love what they tell us about how to improve the business of talent acquisition and where to spend more (or less) of your time and attention. You are able to translate numbers into action, and prefer to make evidence-based decisions. You support your strategies with evidence and facts, and measure tactics to demonstrate returns, efficiency, and opportunities for improvement.
Programmatic Excellence: you know how to build efficient programs at scale, whether recruiting from college or experienced professional ranks. You?ve run recruiting events, developed referral incentives, created recruiting advertisements campaigns, rotated candidates through site visits, and trained managers to screen candidates. You?ve led multi-location teams and set direction for recruitment efforts at scale all while compiling some serious competitive intelligence. Leadership is your thing. Pipelines and process are your friends. Candidate experience is your passion.
Resourcefulness: any recruiter can post an ad. But you craft and deploy multi-channel sourcing efforts to deliver the highest quality talent in the shortest amount of time at the lowest cost. You lead your teams to work the phones and dig for referrals to find the super-stars who are not looking for a job. You can be delicate when the situation calls for it, but you?ve also got the chutzpah to deliver direct sourcing solutions when called for.
Collaboration: you work well with anyone in any business group. You build effective sourcing strategies by partnering with your hiring and executive teams, and understand how to manage expectations genuinely. You have a deep understanding of workforce planning and can assist Redfin in setting the correct goals.
Results Delivery: You love being on the hook to deliver results. At Redfin, we understand the deep connection between having the right talent and delivering business results. You deliver on time and on budget, because you know that talent fuels the business. You are the one to go to when the stakes are high.
Business Acumen: You understand business, and are quick to translate business objectives into recruiting goals and deliverables. You are not so much a recruiting leader as a business leader? recruiting just happens to be the way you contribute to business success.
Here?s what you?ll do:
Build programs while delivering the goods: we need a hunter and a farmer, someone who can help us pick off a rock-star as well as build a college recruiting program to bring on volumes of people at scale. Someone who understands the business of recruiting, from budgets to target setting, and will mold it to our needs.
Grow and develop the team: We have a recruiting team. A strong one that has the potential to double in size. We need you to come and lead them to greatness while developing their professional skills and abilities. Assess the recruiting organization and make thoughtful recommendations on how to improve the operation.
Develop and extend the employment brand: Redfin offers amazing career experiences, unique professional growth, at a values-driven company (that oh by the way is experiencing hyper-growth). You will help us codify and present the career opportunity that is Redfin in an authentic but compelling way to help shape our brand as a top employer and attract talent who is inspired by our culture.
Evaluate and improve the recruiting infrastructure: We recognize that what got us here may not be sufficient to propel our future recruiting success. You will help us figure out what stays, what needs to go, and where we need to invest.
Manage the pipeline: you?ll have a lot of candidates to manage, you?ll need to be pro-active about keeping things organized, and assertive about procedure and process and protocol.
Rap with hiring managers: you have to build rapport with hiring managers and executives so you know what they want and they trust your judgment. Because of your skills, subject matter expertise, and abilities to set direction, you will become the trusted advisor for the company when it comes to attracting and hiring the best of the best.
Help find candidates: some people want to build programs and manage others without ever picking up the phone themselves. That isn?t you. When needed, you can step in and make magic happen. Whether it?s closing an executive hire or helping your recruiter negotiate a tough closing, at Redfin, everybody sweeps the floors.
Requirements:
Experience: agency AND corporate experience preferred, with a history of results & excellent performance.
Leadership: you?ve led a recruiting team and know how to guide and inspire a team to storm the hill.
Smarts: you?ve got a college degree, can communicate & write well and are sharp as a tack at grasping new things.
Tech-chops: you?ve got this internet thing dialed, are familiar with online recruiting methods, blogging & forums, and offer a point of view on the future of recruiting technology.
Building for the future: You have demonstrable experience helping organizations see around corners and setting up the systems to stay ahead of the growth curve.
