Redfin is seeking an experienced Social Community Manager to support the growth and quality of the company?s social channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Redfin Forums, Redfin Collections and others. Redfin?s Community Manager will be the ?air traffic controller? of Redfin?s growing social channels, and an important part of the company?s strategy to build its communities of passionate Redfin and real estate junkies. This role will be integrated with the overall public relations planning for Redfin, giving lots of visibility into the bigger picture.
The ideal candidate has 2 to 5 years of experience in social media monitoring and engagement. He or she should have a deep understanding of social media platforms, and the ability to multitask like crazy while maintaining a keen attention to detail. Someone who already considers themselves a real estate junkie is preferred, but an aspiring junkie is ok too. This role is all about real estate content, so you need to love it. Everything from posting about celebrity homes, to chef-worthy kitchens to price indices and customer service issues will all be in a day?s work. Our Community Manager must be skilled at handling upset social commenters with diplomacy and dedication to customer service. Bonus points for those with a sixth sense about a potential social storm before it spirals into a Category 5 hurricane.
Required Experience
2+ years brand social media experience.
2+ years direct to consumer customer service experience in a variety of channels including online.
Experience building consumer brands and creating engagement with audiences that have diverse needs and represent diverse demographics.
Bachelor's degree.
Required Skills
Knowledge of social media best practices, both technical and creative.
Professional writing and editing ability with a high degree of attention to detail.
Ability to translate content into digestible messages and stories that a broad range of end-user consumers will connect with and engage with.
Awareness of social analytics and comfort with translating raw data into meaningful and actionable analysis.
Multitasking and project management skills, to be able to advance project-based work in an environment where the inbound messages never stop.
Understanding of brand reputation, messaging and corporate communications.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Ability to use Photoshop, video cameras and use video editing software is a plus.
Responsibilities
Own the listening / monitoring and air traffic control operations of Redfin?s social channels and customer forums. Assign inbound message to the appropriate Redfin staffer to answer them, and engage directly with customers where appropriate.
Create and curate content for Redfin?s social channels on a daily basis.
Contribute to the Redfin blog, and support blog content developed by others in an editorial capacity.
Administratively support the Redfin content calendar in an editorial capacity.
Support Social Media Manager?s efforts to liaise with marketing and product teams, internal stakeholders and external influencers to develop new compelling content for audiences
Identify and escalate online red-flags and areas of concern.
Generate periodic reporting focused on meaningful metrics to provide guidance for the ongoing operation of social and community projects.
Identify outreach to influencers and community members in order to create more vocal brand advocates.
Ability to identify and execute ?surprise and delight? opportunities that arise among the social audience.
