Common Sense Media is the leading independent, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of kids and families by providing the information, education, and independent voice they need to thrive in a world of media and technology. We are growing and attracting national media attention on almost a daily basis. Simply put, if you don?t send us your CV, you?ll kick yourself! Currently we are seeking a talented, experienced Regional Director who will ? with laser focus ? serve as a revenue leader by significantly increasing our presence and donor base (both public and private) on the East Coast. This position is based in New York and no relocation reimbursement is available.
WHAT YOU?LL DO
Provide leadership and vision to the Common Sense Media office and build our presence in New York City and the surrounding areas
Build and manage a successful strategy that ensures the long-term growth and sustainability of Common Sense Media on the East Coast
Oversee the New York City programmatic and outreach efforts designed to increase our impact and resources
Coordinate fundraising efforts on the East Coast
Prepare and execute an annual work plan and budget that supports the overall organizational goals while leveraging opportunities unique to NYC
Maintain our amazing NYC area board members? and advisory committee members? efforts that support the Common Sense Media mission.
WHAT WE NEED TO SEE ON YOUR RESUME (REALLY)
10-plus years of professional experience in a related field ? education, business development, etc.
You have a broad diverse network to actively cultivate meaningful relationships
You have excellent communication skills, both written and oral; ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors and partners and build long-term relationships
Authentic interest in the well-being of children in our 24/7 media world
NICE TO HAVE
Some knowledge of digital media landscape (cable/satellite, online, mobile), including related distribution and business models and experience in the K-12 space

You are mature, organized and able to work on multiple projects with overlapping deadlines
You bring real experience/ knowledge to the Common Sense table
You have a great sense of humor ? even when meeting tough deadlines
