General Description:
The Regional Sales Director (RSD) is responsible for managing all field sales operations within their sales region. This position is charged with managing all sales activities necessary to meet or exceed the established sales target. The RSD will build a distribution network through independent agents and understands what it takes to develop and manage a distributor sales force. The RSD must have the requisite business experience necessary to operate in a start-up company environment. They must be capable of being self directed, highly motivated and able to succeed with the resources that are available.
Key Duties And Responsibilites:
The development of sales plans, and leading and monitoring of sales activities
Recruiting, training and managing the distribution network in the assigned territory to obtain sales objectives
Assisting in developing the annual sales and production forecast
Defining the strategic sales plan and product launch strategy for new products in the defined territory
Monitoring and taking responsibility for the implementation of successful product trials and new product introductions
Assist in the development of the annual sales plan for the assigned territory
Provide regular and timely feedback on sales performance, market dynamics, new target accounts, and organizational performance
Provide ideas regarding market and product growth and new product development, introductions and existing product enhancements
Supervisory Responsibilites:
Responsible for managing distributor(s) sales for defined region
Travel Requirements:
This position requires 80 travel.
Minimum Requirements And Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required for this position.
Bachelors degree plus 10 years in the medical device industry.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a sales management in progressively more responsible positions (prior Regional Manager or Division Manager preferred)
Must be experienced in managing a strong independent distribution network, and balancing the needs of the team with the company forecast, budget and mission
A successful track record selling disposable surgical or implantable products or other high-technology medical device company
Must be well acquainted with the health care industry and hospital OR purchasing practices
Thorough knowledge of marketing, sales and business processes including CRM
Must have a measurable track record of success in consistently meeting established objectives
Must be experienced in developing relationships with champion surgeons who will influence product purchases
Proficient in MS Office
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a start-up or small company environment highly preferred
Experience in urology or other soft tissue repair products
Consistent award winner in previous sales positions
