If you are not in Cloud Computing related sales, well here is your chance. You have read all the hype and you know where things are heading. You have been working in IT Sales for a number of years, and you are tired of pitching the same old OS, App Server, SOA platform, Database, Security or Management suite or Speeds and Feeds. You are looking to offer something transformational to your clientele. Now is the time and Eucalyptus is that something.

1. AWS is expected to have revenue of $3.8 billion in 2013, $6.2 billion in 2014 and $8.8 billion in 2015. That is essentially an unheard of 50% CAGR.
2. Despite the growth of Public Cloud, Enterprises are not throwing away their existing IT gear
3. Eucalyptus is the on premise cloud platform that enables the most AWS compatible cloud to be built on existing IT gear
Enterprises should/will build Eucalyptus clouds to deliver AWS compatible self service IT to maximize the utilization of existing assets thus enabling their business to operate on the world?s most powerful, most global, and most performant hybrid cloud (Euca+ AWS).

We are looking for a Sales Director that ?gets it? and is ready to help make this a reality in the Enterprise IT world.
Here is what it entails?
Prospect potential customers based on their fit with our product?s capabilities and their need for such
Engage with our Sales Engineers in a consultative sales approach to our prospects? cloud computing needs/objectives
Work with customers and prospects on how Eucalyptus can fit into their environment and help them create a flexible self service private cloud or hybrid cloud (with AWS)
Manage prospects through the successful evaluation of our product (e.g. POCs or paid Trials)
Create commercial offers of the right set of services to meet the needs of our prospects (training, consulting, support), convert prospects to customers
Manage contracts, collections. and all necessary paperwork to ensure a proper commercial relationship
Manage customer accounts post sales to ensure that they are successful with the product out of the gate and over the long term. Fend off competitive threats.
Help our customers grow their Eucalyptus environment to meet oncoming business needs
Provide feedback from the field to our Product and Engineering teams to improve our product fit in the market
Build out a sales eco-system by connecting with complementary partner product sales rep to identify opportunities for Eucalyptus and vice versa
Assist Marketing with development and update of sales collateral and implementing messaging campaigns in the field
Attend meetups, shows, and conferences as needed to promote the Eucalyptus value prop and build Sales pipeline
Ready to handle those responsibilities?if so, you will need to have the following characteristics to be successful:
A passion for formulating creative solutions to meet our prospect?s needs for our open source software and professional services
A boldness to accept the risk/reward profile of working for a well-funded startup organization in a still-nascent technology field.
Self motivation to work remotely and extreme flexibility to be prepared to do anything at anytime for your company (within reason of course J)
Willingness to travel to cover the upper Western US market. Expectation should be about 60% local travel in the Bay Area, 20% northwestern US travel, 20% office time
A ?not to be denied or defeated? attitude for battling against competition such as OpenStack, CloudStack, and VCloud Director
Matches your mojo??Great?do you possess some or most of these skills/accomplishments:
7+ years of IT Sales experience
Ability to sell at all levels in the IT organization (Sys admin to CX0)
Ability to distill a company?s business objectives into the impacts on their IT infrastructure and demonstrate how cloud computing can meet those needs
Knowledge of the key players and dynamics of the cloud computing marketplace. Specific detailed knowledge of Amazon Web Services, as well as open-source cloud computing projects like Eucalyptus, OpenStack, CloudStack, and proprietary platforms such as VCloud Director
Knowledge of typical application environments and workloads and their use/demand on IT infrastructure. Familiarity with leading PaaS and Virtualization platforms.
Bachelor's degree or higher; MBA preferred
