About This Position:
This will be a "home based" position and we are looking for candidates currently residing in the West Coast Region. Relocation fees will not be provided. The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and growing the sales of Astute Networks products and services within an assigned territory. Primary focus will be on developing solid relationships and implementing sales contracts with virtualization customers experiencing performance challenges due to I/O issues and bottlenecks. This position must represent Astute Networks in a knowledgeable and professional manner. It will also be important for this individual to work in a collaborative effort with our channel partners by managing, nurturing, and growing the channel business and sales

Technical Comprehension ? ViSX is typically sold to VMware experts. While Astute Networks will have technical field support available, it?s important to be able to understand the pains associated with VMware environments and basic SAN infrastructures. Must understands selling solutions vs. Commodity sales based upon price.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities regularly performed and normally assigned to this position are as follows:
Responsible for sales revenue and volume goal achievement in the region.
Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on industry ads and market data, trade shows, internet web sites, and other sources.
Proficiency with Salesforce.com and LinkedIn and other social networking tools such as Twitter.
Evaluates assigned territory and primary customers therein to make efficient and effective sales call schedules and ensure maximum sales territory coverage. Travels through assigned territory as appropriate to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers by phone.
Make oral and written sales presentations when necessary to present Astute Networks? products and services.
Prepare correspondence as necessary to facilitate sales activities. This would include writing proposals, completing formal RFP?s, letters, reports, emails, etc.
Utilize corporate CRM tool (Salesforce.com) to log opportunities, activity reports, collaboration with team members, manage contacts and report market conditions.
Effectively manage expenses and submit timely expense reports according to company guidelines
Prepare quarterly updated forecasts for existing customers and new targeted business.
Efficiently manage opportunity pipeline in Salesforce.com
Attends user groups, trade shows, and other industry related networking events.

Education, Certificates and Licenses:
Bachelors degree in Business or Marketing preferred
Strong technical sales experience selling solutions
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of technical sales experience
VMware knowledge and work experience is given preference
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient working knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), social network tools, and demonstrated ability to learn other software as necessary. Salesforce.com is required.
