Regional Sales Manager Summary of Duties
Drive advertising revenue through direct sales by prospecting, developing new opportunities and renewing revenue with existing partners to maximize long-term growth within a defined territory.
Meet and exceed a quarterly sales quota by selling standard media, sponsorships and custom solutions.
Conduct consultative and strategic sales by educating agency and client partners on market trends, advertising strategies and measurement/reporting of conversational marketing to position Federated Media as a leader in the space.
Own and foster relationships across agencies and clients with a focus on senior level executives to drive revenue growth.
Identify opportunities and make proactive recommendations to drive revenue growth outside of the RFP cycle.
Review RFPs and make recommendations that will stand out and deliver results.
Partner with and mentor Account Executives to ensure maximum territory penetration and professional development.
Be the liaison between cross-functional internal teams to oversee the creation of strategic recommendations, implementation and execution, interpretation of analysis and communication of results to drive upsells and renewals.
Educate self on industry news, trends and brands within assigned territory.
Produce regular forecasts and call reports to keep the organization and senior management informed of all account activity.
Participate in the development of long term growth strategy for accounts.
Requirements of the job, including education and experience
Be a self-starter and natural leader with a strong desire to win and grow personally and professionally.
Think creatively, sell strategically, and communicate complex solutions efficiently both internally and externally.
Be extremely knowledgeable and passionate about online media and the web as a marketing platform - specifically conversational media (blogs, micro-blogs, social networks, applications, video, mobile, etc.)
Have a proven track record of profitable sales, relationship building, and customer retention with Fortune 500 brand marketers and their agencies.
Demonstrate analytical ability and experience with project management.
Have an engaging leadership style while valuing teamwork and development.
The ability to handle multiple challenges at once and being able to prioritize those tasks accordingly.
BS/BA degree or equivalent training and experience.
3 - 5 years of digital advertising sales experience.
Existing industry relationships with clients and agencies.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Strong computer skills (Mac/PC).
