Skytap is seeking a driven and highly motivated sales professional to acquire new customers, build out a territory, and drive growth within existing accounts. The right candidate will possess high energy, technical knowledge, and be a dynamic salesperson who will enable the continued growth of Skytap Cloud.
Your World at Skytap
The regional sales manager in the SF/Bay area will have the ability to clearly articulate Skytap?s unique technical and business value right out of the gate. It?s a big role?you?ll be responsible for defining and executing territory/account sales plans, then meeting and exceeding quotas through prospecting, qualifying, managing, and closing sales opportunities within your territory. More specifically, you will:
Own and effectively manage the sales cycle for all new Skytap opportunities, working directly with our prospects.
Retain existing customers with Skytap and ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
Provide initial product demonstrations to highly technical user groups and provide ongoing sales leadership in driving the sales cycle.
Provide regular reporting of pipeline and forecast through the CRM system.
Drive high levels of daily activity including: outbound prospecting, account touches, and customer meetings as this role involves identifying new business.
Keep abreast of technical innovation, industry trends, competitive issues, and products.
Demonstrate excellent communication with all levels of customers, internal Skytap management, and support staff.
Work directly with marketing team to develop territory-specific programs that drive growth.
Travel to customer locations in support of sales efforts.

Your history of overachievement is due to technical competence, persistence, and a strong work ethic?and you have the track record to prove it. We also envision this person will have the following skills and background:
7+ years of sales experience in the software industry.
The ability to interact with highly technical end users and IT.
Motivated and goal-oriented with strong negotiation skills.
High level of initiative and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Handle stressful situations and deadline pressures with grace and good humor.
Plan and carry out responsibilities with minimal direction.
