Regional Trainer - East Redfin
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED The T&D team at Redfin is adding another Regional Trainer!
Redfin is looking for someone who enjoys sharing their knowledge and experiences with others. Someone who is passionate about facilitating learning in all kinds of delivery methods: live classroom and on-line instruction (?webcasts?), on-the-job training, group and 1:1 coaching, and self-paced video production. Someone who can build on-going relationships with his/her ?students? and provide both thoughtful, positive encouragement as well as constructive, developmental feedback.
In this exciting role at Redfin, you?ll work with the Training & Development Manager, the rest of the T&D team and the market managers in the markets/areas you support to define the responsibilities of the centralized training function, and serve an instrumental role in its implementation. You?ll have responsibilities and reach within the organization far beyond the geographic boundaries of the market in which you?re based. Come be a part of the Redfin T&D rEvolution!
As a Regional Trainer, you?ll be focused on:
Supplementing new hire boot-camp by delivering core training to all new agents, coordinators and associate agents to on-board them as quickly as possible
Delivering training for ?seasoned? Redfin agents, coordinators and associate agents supporting their growth within their current role and ensuring the pipeline for internal promotions is stocked.
Support timely and ad-hoc training initiatives that come down from HQ (e.g. new tools or updates to existing tools, new system implementations, new policies/products, reaction to external forces/market conditions, etc)
Crisp and effective email communications in a variety of contexts such as pre and post-training communications to trainees, all-market emails/announcements/alerts, newsletter articles, summary emails to management, etc.
Identifying knowledge gaps and recommend training opportunities within the organization
Serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), partnering with the Training and Development Manager on the design and development of new training content
Interviewing other SME?s to uncover true training need and identify best practices and processes to build into training when developing content
Continuously evaluating the effectiveness of training through formal evaluation forms, testing, observation, peer and manager interviews
Staying current with developments in the real estate market and/or legislature with potential impact in your region
Serving as the point of contact for vendors and partners Redfin engages to deliver training content within your region
Who you are:
A Redfinnian, through and through. With much of your time being spent with new or ?new-ish? Redinnians, it is critical that you act as a role model - demonstrating our core values and culture in all that you do.
Not just a presenter, you?re a facilitator. Someone who naturally facilitates engagement and interaction when presenting ? acknowledge that each audience member has different experiences coming into the classroom; effectively manage classroom exercises; an ?ask before you tell? approach to teaching; create a safe environment where no question is left unasked, etc.
A coach. It?s easy to tell someone how to do something or tell them when they do something wrong. It?s harder to ask probing questions and have people discover better ways of doing things on their own. You get a rush from watching people?s light bulbs light up during ?Aha!? moments.
A storyteller. You have vast experiences to pull from and can quickly illustrate a topic with practical stories, examples and metaphors to make training content really come to life and stick with your audience.
Receptive to feedback. Training must always be evaluated and can always be improved, no matter how many times you?ve delivered it or how long it?s been in place. Participants can be harsh, but you don?t take constructive feedback personally, rather, you seek the feedback and always strive to improve.
Technologically inclined (or at least curious!). We?re a cutting edge real estate brokerage leveraging technology whenever possible. As a trainer you?ll need to be able to pick up programs tools quickly to be able to demonstrate and train others on them. In addition, creating training content requires a bit of technology knowhow, especially where self-paced video production is concerned. You certainly don?t have to come in knowing it, but you definitely need to be able to learn it!
Self-directed. While you?ll be given specific objectives, you need to be able to function well autonomously to manage your time and meet deadlines while juggling multiple balls at once.
To be considered, you?ve got to have:
A bachelor?s degree
Current RE license
An experienced Redfinnian with a track record of success in different roles: Associate Agent, Coordinator and/or deal-writing Agent (Agent, Sr. Agent or Team Lead)
Experience working on the transaction side of real estate either as a coordinator or writing offers or listing homes.
Prior experience in training: At least one years experience in delivering training in a classroom, on-the-job and/or 1:1 coaching. This could have been as part of your formal job description or informally as something you worked yourself into or found yourself doing. Either way we?ll want you to tell us about it!
