The Regulatory Configuration Analyst is a member of Vertafore?s Regulatory Compliance Services team. As part of this team, the qualified individual will implement new services, regulatory and compliance changes including analysis, reference table and schemas updates, and write related communications.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of four to five years professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant business experience
Exposure to the Information Technology industry gained through education and/or internships preferred
Experience with insurance regulation or other professional regulation a plus
Solid understanding and experience in information technology using: Relational Database Management Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience/knowledge of insurance or securities industry, particularly licensing and compliance
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a good knowledge of company software products and systems
Assess feasibility and impact of requested regulatory changes and enhancements within current functionality for all products and services
Communicate with internal and external customers and states/vendors as appropriate for issue clarification and assistance
Respond to inquiries from internal staff regarding software configuration
Coordinate the escalation of problem resolution or unresolved issues as necessary
Complete reference table configurations using company tools and SQL scripts and unit test updates where applicable
As part of a team, coordinate and/or perform QA testing of production support items after they are unit tested including the creation of test plans or guidelines as appropriate
Assist with coordination of production support releases through all stages of the production deployment process
Update environments based on customer requests, regulatory changes, and software updates
Perform database reference table deployments to all environments including pre-production and production environments
Assist with preparation and updating of documentation for release notes and database reference table maintenance
Assist with assessment of production issues, causes and action needed to correct the current issue and/or prevent recurrence in the future
Ensure adherence to all SAS70 requirements where applicable
Other projects as assigned

PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong technical competency, including familiarity with relational databases, web editing tools and Perforce
Technical skills including SQL and XML. Oracle database knowledge is a plus
Ability to understand and interpret complex business requirements, financial and regulatory concepts within the insurance industry regarding producer lifecycle
Detailed-oriented professional with the ability to multi-task, work independently with minimal supervision and support other team members
Advanced interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
Highly organized with excellent leadership skills
