Assists in the establishment, development and execution of processes and procedures to facilitate effective case management specifically around patient reimbursement. Will gather appropriate information from health care providers, communicate with carriers and facilitate approval of benefits for Juxtapid (lomitapide) and communicate with our sales and National Accounts team as a representative of our in-house COMPASS group.
Support patient onboarding process through facilitation of the reimbursement process which includes coverage approvals, prior authorizations and denial management.
Gather and enter patient information into department database and update database as appropriate.
Develop positive, on-going relationships with internal and external customers.
Communicate findings directly to COMPASS CCM and other pertinent parties including, but not limited to, National Account Managers, Lipid Specialty Managers/Representatives, Sales Directors, Prescribers and Prescriber?s office staff.
Manage special projects.
Maintain a current, proficient understanding of Commercial Insurers, Medicaid, and Medicare Part D Benefit and Prescription Drug Plan (PDP), Health Insurance Exchanges benefits and changes year-to-year
Keep current on Juxtapid reimbursement issues across US (i.e. State Pharmacy Assistance Programs, alternative funding, government programs, state-specific carriers, etc.) in association with our National Accounts Team.
Answer and address calls to the Helpline; document all pertinent information on caller, question(s) asked, information given, etc.
Work with partner ?Hub? to troubleshoot and resolve reimbursement, system, process and other issues.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor?s degree with 1 year industry reimbursement or medical front office experience preferred.
Understanding of health insurance coverage approval processes a plus.
Ability to work as part of a regional cross-functional team
Ability to multi-task and problem solve.
Must be able to establish strong relationships over phone.
Flexible self-starter who can learn quickly and advocate at a high level.
Must communicate in a highly effective manner with high-touch, concierge, patient-focused service levels.
