General Description:
The Reimbursement Specialist is responsible for providing coding, billing and other revenue cycle management support to Advanced Wound Center (AWC) personnel. This support includes the shared responsibility of conducting Revenue Cycle Audits (RCA), as designated. Duties also include periodic support for operations, business development, and corporate personnel.
Long Description:
Qualifications:
BA or equivalent in relevant area of study; previous management experience for billing and/or medical coding in a healthcare facility or physician office preferred
Experience or understanding of Medicare OPPS methodology and coding for CPT and ICD-9 assignment in the hospital outpatient department
Experience with EMR-related reporting is preferred
Experience related to benefit review/verification from commercial payors
Ability to provide remote phone or web-based training and education
Ability to work independently and efficiently
Positive interpersonal relationship skills required
Computer literacy required; high level of proficiency with Microsoft programs (specifically, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Minimum License and Certificates:
Certification as a Professional Coder (CPC) preferred
