SUMMARY: The Release Engineer will perform regular deployments of our major and minor software releases. The position calls for active development of the release portion of the build & deploy tools. This position will manage and improve the existing build and deployment processes between all environments for all releases.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain build tools, deployment environment & tools, and source code control tools.
Monitor TFS2008/2010 build activity and assist with debugging and troubleshooting builds and deployments.
Strive to achieve zero impact production launches.
Proactively identify and implement procedures to streamline application build and release process.
Maintain continuous build and test process for development and QA team.
Create and maintain documentation of the build/deployment systems and processes as well as development/test environments
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience with source code management tools like TFS, GIT, Perforce, and Subversion (TFS2010 experience is a must)
2+ years experience as Build Engineer, preferably in an e-commerce enterprise-level software company.
Proven high quality of successfully managing and deploying complex releases Working knowledge of IIS platform, .NET Framework (C#/ASP.NET), CSS and JavaScript.
Experience using build automation tools such as MS Build, Hudson, TeamCity, Octopus, Nant or CruiseControl & NuGet.
Experience working in Microsoft .NET based environments (i.e. Visual Studio/TFS)
Experience with SQL Server, MongoDB and MySQL Development and Administration is a plus
Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, NT Shell, VBScript, etc.)
Experience in a Continuous Integration and Agile/SCRUM environment
Experience debugging and troubleshooting automated builds and deployments
