Core is seeking a Release Engineer to help solve challenging problems and lead the effort for building the next generation of our enterprise class product. In this role, the Release Engineer will help to automate and manage source control and build systems. A successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience working for a dynamic software company, supporting development teams in multiple locations. This position reports to the Director of QA.Responsibilities:
Take a leading role in the conversion of source code management systems from SVN to Perforce
Support an Agile development team and manage a dynamic environment with multiple source code branches and builds
Assist in the management of the Red Hat Satellite Network servers and the successful deployment of the product
Develop scripts to automate builds and source code management (e.g., create branches, merge branches, etc.)
Develop scripts to automate regression test harnesses
Required Experience:
Experience with SVN, Subversion, Perforce, or other similar source control systems
Extensive experience with the Red Hat Linux operating system
Experience deploying software using Red Hat Network
Knowledge of ticketing systems, such as TRAC, Bugzilla, etc., and their integration with source control systems
Experience managing a build farm hosted on virtual systems
Experience building and managing automated builds using Apache Ant
Experience with Agile software development, including supporting builds across multiple software branches
