Overview:The Release Engineer will own the build and release process for multiple projects and application. This will include the processes and tools to support continuous integration and testing. In addition, the Release Engineer will have basic system administration task to help manage and implement software engineering practices and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Primary owner of build and release tools and processes
Work with multiple project teams
Help define best practices for source control, continuous integration, automated testing and release management
Build tools for internal use to support software engineering best practices and deployment
Develop build plans, build scripts and automate for multiple releases
Provide build status to product teams and articulate build and release engineering issues in detail
Collaborate effectively with peers, managers and engineers to solve complex problems spanning their respective areas to deliver end-to-end quality in our technology and customer experience
Come up with innovative ideas to improve the build process and productivity
Qualifications:
Mastery of source control tools such as TFS and SVN
Basic system administration skill for both windows and Linux systems
Experience using and developing software for Windows and Linux systems
4 or more years of professional experience in Build and Release engineering, development, product development or testing with a willingness to learn/excel in build and release process
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong multitasking skills
Additional Qualifications Desired
5+ years working with ecommerce software
Significant work and contributions to one or more open source projects
QA experience, including automated test development
Experience working with distributed systems
Power shell scripting
