This role will include ownership of builds, deployment plans, release activities, release calendar maintenance, and release coordination, as well as build and deploy process automation, SVN maintenance, and release process ownership.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain existing release process from projects hand off to release to deployment to Production
Identify, design and implement necessary build tools to increase release efficiency; implement various automated solutions
Administer, manage, and maintain source control system (SVN)
Own QA builds, pre-release activities and all documentation associated with them
Implement release deployment standards; troubleshoot and fix compilation or build script issues
Manage all production release from build, deploy, merge, and ownership perspective
Act as a liaison between QA, engineering, operations, and business
Participate in change management meetings and then own changes submitted through CM Process
Advocate new tools and processes to continuously improve build and source control efficiency
REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years of software release and build management experience working in UNIX and Windows environments
Expert knowledge of build, release and configuration management practices
Experience working in high speed dynamic environments
Expertise with source control systems
Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Self-Starter; ability to quickly learn new tools and products
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Strong knowledge of SVN
Good knowledge of release engineering tools and processes
Experience in automation of build and release process
Highly-motivated individual who excels in a fast-paced environment
Working knowledge of scripting languages and build management tools (Hudson, AnthillPro)
Bachelor degree or equivalent required
