Release Engineer Guidewire Software

Guidewire has an opening for a Release Engineer to take ownership of all technical aspects of Guidewire's build and release processes. This is a rare opportunity for anyone who is inspired to put a company like Guidewire on a modern and robust build and release system. Strong candidates should have experience with large-scale build systems and have established and managed repeatable, dependable release processes. Responsibilities
The Release Engineer is responsible for the following area:

• Manages the source repository, Perforce and git
• Responsible for setting up and be the gate keeper for artifacts repository through Nexus
• Responsible for branching strategy and platform release process for the development department
• Provide guidance for POM file updates

The Release Engineer is involved in the following areas:

• Major, minor, and patch releases of the application teams.
• Releases of the Guidewire platform to application teams
• Creation of the snapshot builds as well as how these builds integrate with ToolsHarness, our continuous integration server
• The activities in development teams that involves branching: continuous testing, branch merging, broken test investigation

Requirements
Successful candidates have experience with the following:

• Experience in release management in enterprise application development with dependencies
• Experience in how build and release fit into continuous integration environment
• Experience in Build (Ant, Aardvark, Gradle), deployment systems and script languages
• Experience in SCM systems, especially Perforce and git
• Knowledge of Maven and Maven plugin development
• Linux and Windows admin skills
• Track record in process automation in a sustainable fashion.
• Experience working with code migration processes -- packaging and deploying software changes
