Release Engineer RemedyMD
Coordinates and performs the mass distribution of software updates to clients via the network and/or external media, including all software and regulatory release updates.
? Coordinate and perform distribution of release media and documentation to the client base, as defined in Release Management Processes and instructed. This includes various types of releases, i.e. major, minor, etc. with varying artifacts such as Java build deployments, PHP, database connection channels and other requested software deployments.
? Coordinate release scheduling for all clients, and maintain master release schedule.
? Insure all fixes are distributed according to defined processes.
? Keep Release Management and Team informed regarding status by ensuring related JIRA system tickets are updated with pertinent details, as well as Team meetings.
? Participate in and perform lessons learned reviews of release issues on a continuous basis, coordinating follow-up and resolution mitigating future issues where and when applicable.
? Interact in a professional and productive manner with personnel from other departments facilitating new processes and efficiencies.
? Participate in installation of releases at client sites as needed, along with providing necessary ongoing support.
? Create customer release communications and update/maintain release related information in the company?s JIRA ticketing software and/or other related websites and documents.
? Propose, document, and implement policies and procedures to optimize the deployment process.
? Stay informed of and strictly adhere to all company security processes and procedures, as well as overall IT policies.
? Implement, maintain and support any release related software programs, OS scripts, or release deployment tools.
? Troubleshoot and resolve any release related errors, issues or concerns involving the proper colleagues and Release Management.
? Some limited travel may be required.
? Associates or Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
? 3 ? 5 years experience with Oracle or another SQL based database.
? 5+ years experience with Linux or UNIX OS (personal hands-on).
? Experience with Glassfish (or other java application server) and Apache is a plus.
? Strong SQL, PLSql, Linux, Network Administration skills are a plus.
? Oracle DBA skills are a plus.
? Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook or equivalent.
? Must be a quick learner with a deep understanding of Information Technology.
? Must be detail-oriented, organized and able to multi-task.
? Must be able to develop supportive relationships with peers, other departments, customers, partners, and management.
? Must be flexible, with a can-do attitude and the ability to remain professional under pressure.
? Must have excellent written, proof reading and verbal communication skills
? Must be able to retain and protect confidential material.
