The growing Portals team at EdgeCast is looking to add a Release Engineer to our ranks. We've got a strong team of developers and and DBAs, we just need your help getting all that code into production!
This is a great opportunity for you to expand your already considerable skill set by building a process from the ground up. We're looking for someone who's excited to design, implement and manage every layer of a build and release process. You'll have great freedom to identify tools and platforms...equal parts strategy and hands-on implementation....an army-of-one, build-and-release machine!
The software you'll be deploying is .NET and MS SQL Server, so you should definitely have experience with Windows server environments. Ideally, you'd also have a solid history of working with SQL scripts and databases. Currently, we work in two week sprints, with scheduled releases. While we'd need you to help automate and refine that existing process, the ultimate goal is a smooth, reliable continuous integration / continuous deployment environment: from Dev, through QA and Staging, and on into Production.

The Details:
Manage ongoing build and deployment platforms for our .NET Portals software, including Jenkins, SQL Compare and custom build WSH scrips
Participate in bi-weekly deployments, eventually owning the process
Enhance / automate the existing deployment processes
Design, implement, and own an entirely new continuous integration / continuous deployment platform
The Requirements:
Strong experience with release engineering
Experience implementing CI platforms
Strong scripting skills (WSH, perl, python, we're flexible)
Solid experience with Windows Server and MS SQL Server platforms
CS degree or similar experience
Strong troubleshooting, debugging and analytic skills
Self motivated, with an ability to drive with little oversight
Desire to work in a team-oriented environment
