Key Position Accountabilities:
Create and maintain the solar collection system reliability and availability targets, plus the actual experience data
Develop correlation and experience tools among field data and life test data to establish a body of knowledge for or product family
Own the modeling of reliability allocation and modeling across the system: mechanical, electrical, networks and software
Represent the design reliability subjects in customer or vendor discussion
Train other team members on reliability testing, tools, data analysis
Lead problem-solving activities at part and system levels for reliability improvement
Track our product?s reliability progress at established test and production sites and integrate learning into improvement plans
The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for driving the actions required to target, measure and improve our product and system reliability. Products included are heliostat electro-mechanical components and control systems.
Bachelors Degree in engineering
At least 6 years experience in electro-mechanical parts and controls reliability engineering.
Experience in developing overstress / HALT test methods to demonstrate product life statistically
Ability to analyze complex data using a variety of statistical methods for reliability prediction, MTBF, MTBR, Weibull analysis, etc
Experience in using FMEA as a tool with field experience to craft meaningful life tests with design and test engineers
Customer reliability interface experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Organized, hands-on and detail oriented.
Occasional travel to test sites required.
Thorough understanding of the theoretical and practical application of statistical tools for analysis of data.
Commercial product reliability experience in automotive, industrial or energy markets
Product development and test experience in high-reliability but low-cost applications
Manufacturing process variation experience
