Description:Vesta offers a dynamic environment for employing your java skills to create a service oriented architecture for real-time transaction processing within Vesta?s stored value replenishment business. We have many upcoming projects that span the spectrum of development. We are seeking an energetic, personable, and motivated Reporting Software Engineer to join our talented Development team. This position is responsible for applying technology to drive Vesta?s real-time transaction operating environment.
Duties:This position has responsibility for applying Vesta reporting technology to provide data for a diverse customer base to meet their reporting and analytic needs.
Work with customers to determine reporting needs and the best way to address those needs using Vesta's reporting infrastructure
Provide feedback on report specs and documentation
Work with QA engineers for end to end report testing
On occasion, this position will require nonstandard work schedules.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Strong development skills with SQL Server technologies including T-SQL 2000, 2005, and 2008, Windows authentication mode, management studio or enterprise manager, and modeling
Experience developing with Crystal Reports and/or Edge Server technologies
Background in large enterprise web projects (typically in industries such as Finance, Insurance, Banking, E-commerce/E-business, Computers or any major dot coms)
Experience with Source Code Management tools such as Subversion
Experience with Agile development methodologies
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRABLE BUT NOT REQUIRED:
Experience developing with BIRT or additional reporting technologies such as SSRS
Data analysis using T-SQL queries and presenting information in Excel spreadsheets and charts.
Java (Ant, Jar?s and WAR file packaging, threading and synchronization, exceptions handling, and error handing strategies)
Tomcat (Trust-store and Key-store setup and configurations, server.xml, context and web.xml and JDBC connections pooling)
Bank card processing and banking experience
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Work closely with other Vesta developers, team leads, QA engineers and Technical Implementation Managers
Works closely with report business owners and key stakeholders
