We are currently looking for a Uniform Product Code (UPC) Research Analyst to join our fast ?paced, dynamic company. This is a special opportunity for a tax professional to work in an innovative environment with a global tax solution provider.
The UPC Research Analyst is responsible for providing quality UPC tax decisions based on existing information and internet research. The person must pay attention to detail to accurately discern retail product information and attributes to appropriately categorize each UPC. The person may undertake UPC and sales tax research projects, effectively communicate the results of the research projects, and participate proactively in the corporate-wide compliance effort.
Accurately identify retail product contents and ingredients using UPC Matrix Master and internet information
Maintain UPC product support and documentation standards
Basic understanding of UPC Matrix Master functions and capabilities
Effectively work and communicate with cross-functioning team members to accomplish specific tasks in a timely, efficient and productive manner
Special projects and regular tasks to enhance team productivity as required
Proactively participate in a dynamic and innovative tax environment
Experience and Skills:
Undergraduate degree (preferred) or 1-3 years proven research skills
Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written)
Attention to detail a must
Have excellent research skills that include a logical as well as creative approach to drilling down to specific data to surface information that is vital to the accuracy of published content
A natural curiosity about product ingredients (labels) and an interest in learning about sales tax
Ability to work within tight deadlines and effectively prioritize and execute tasks
Strong knowledge of MS Office products (Excel, Access and Word)
Must function well in a team-driven environment
Demonstrate high standards of excellence in work product and professionalism
