We are currently seeking a Research Analyst, who will work closely with the Research Team and CEO and Founder Matt Fellowes on new, cutting-edge consumer finance research. This position will give an extraordinary opportunity to a whip-smart person to see their ideas and research converted into front-page stories and technology products that are improving the lives of millions of workers and the performance at some of the leading companies in the United States.Key Responsibilities:
Work with Research Team leaders and the CEO on new, cutting-edge consumer finance research
Analyze large public and private databases using standard statistical software, like SAS or STATA
Utilize a broad range of statistical method
Prepare analytical reports
Updates and checks existing databanks; assembles, consolidates, and checks data from new sources
Create figures for non-experts to understand data
Co-author papers for technical and non-technical audiences
Participate in academic and industry conferences
Provides analytical reviews and summaries of existing literature pertinent to the projects
Locates and collects relevant documents and data from sources such as electronic databases, libraries, and government publications
Maintains up-to-date files on literature in key areas of focus for the company
Conceptualize new research papers or projects
Serve as an additional internal and external resource on consumer finance topics
Skills / Qualifications:
BA/BS in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Modeling
Competence to undertake research assignments with little supervision
Experience handling large data sets
Experience with software such as SAS, STATA, or other econometric packages
Excellent communication skills: written, spoken and visual
Ability to effectively analyze quantitive data and qualitative research to justify conclusions
A curious mind

Understanding of personal financial concepts
Sense of humor
Plus: project management skills / experience
Supervisor: reports directly to the SVP, Product
Location: The position is based in downtown Washington, DC and may involve infrequent travel.
