Position: American Aerogel Corporation (AAC) is seeking a highly motivated, entry-level Research and Development Technician to join our team. S/he will play an important role in the supporting and completing a wide variety of research and development projects, including natural gas vehicle tanks, refrigerated tractor trailers, and advanced battery materials. Responsibilities will also include planning experiments, equipment maintenance, and ensuring the timely completion of R&D projects.Typical responsibilities include:
?Understanding oral and written objectives and experimental procedures and participating in experimental design and planning
?Working within given priorities and exercise discipline for completing high priority tasks
?Taking initiative to seek out and perform the next step of a project
? Communicating results/information effectively to specialists, coworkers, team leaders, and supervisors
?Observing and documenting any unusual or unexpected results
?Recommending changes in procedures and equipment to improve efficiency and data quality
The ideal candidate will possess skills in the following areas:
?Mechanics
?Electronics / Data acquisition
?Instrumentation / PLCs
?Pressure/Vacuum equipment
Qualifications:
?B.S. in Physics, Engineering, or Chemistry
?Strong problem-solving skills
?Strong writing/communication skills
?Strong organizational skills
?High level of motivation
