RESEARCH ASSOCIATE - GLP/GMP LABORATORY Nodality, Inc.
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Research Associate/Senior Research Associate at our South San Francisco, California laboratory to participate in validation and research efforts utilizing Nodality developed assays that will be applied to diagnostic tests for hematological malignancies and autoimmune disorders.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Rigorous execution of experiments according to pre-defined SOPs in a timely and efficient manner. Will perform experiments in a GLP/GMP environment. These experiments will include the application of flow cytometry to examination of signaling pathways in healthy and diseased human donor samples, as well as in cell lines.
Evaluation of antibody and cell modulating reagents, including small molecule drugs and biologics, including optimization and development of specifications.
Understanding of experimental goals and results and the ability to provide feedback and troubleshooting solutions when required.
Drafting of experimental procedures and defined goals for new assays when required.
Routine handling of fresh or cryopreserved clinical (particularly blood and/or bone marrow) specimens for Nodality assay testing.
Work cooperatively in a team environment; supporting senior scientific staff and co-workers.
Masters degree in science with a minimum of 3 years industry experience OR
Bachelor's degree in science with a minimum of 4 ? 5 years industry experience
Candidate qualifications include, but are not limited to:
An understanding of the principles and practice of flow cytometry. Prior experience using flow cytometry instrumentation strongly preferred (Becton Dickinson or Beckman Coulter platforms preferred).
A working knowledge of cell signaling pathways (PI3K, JAK/STAT, or MAPK for example), how they function and their involvement in disease development/progression is a definite plus.
An understanding of the principles and practices of fluorescent microscopy (preferred but not required).
Experience in working in development environment and a GLP/GMP environment.
Experience in handling clinical specimens.
Experience in routine cell culture techniques and/or large scale cell culture production.
Ability to work independently while managing project time lines.
Excellent WRITTEN and ORAL communication skills.
